Director, Enterprise Transformation
SUMMARY:
An experienced Transformation expert that can span high-level program management, project management, business analysis and change management fundamentals to partner with business owners to deliver strategic initiatives successfully at HBG as well as embed best practice project management and change management capabilities across the organization.
Project Delivery:
- Partnering with EMB and SMG leaders to define, prioritize, and develop a Program portfolio that is aligned with corporate vision and strategy.
- Strategic planning with cross-functional business partners to move strategic initiatives from ideation to goal setting to action plans to achievable projects or workstreams including setting expectations of the project timeline and deliverables.
- Develop and manage full cycle program management and project management plans by identifying scope, timelines, schedules, deliverables, status, risks, issues, and dependencies of initiatives within the portfolio.
- Assisting business owners and project sponsors with project charter, scope definition, resource planning, cost benefit analysis, impact analysis and stakeholder analysis. This includes assisting business partners problem solve through complex business problems and optimize business decisions.
- Drive prioritization of organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes needed for a successful deployment and adoption of change across the organization.
- Assist project teams to elicit achievable business requirements by understanding business needs, understanding business impacts, communicating with business stakeholders and critically review any solutions proposed.
- Ensure program and project level risks, issues and dependencies are well-understood, managed and communicated to impacted stakeholders to develop clear view of a cross-functional delivery plan.
- Ensure sound project management organization is in place for initiatives including governance structure, business sponsorship, RACI, structured meetings and standardized templates and tools are used to drive and document solutions and decisions.
- Manage and hold stakeholders accountable to defined project plan, goals and deliverables.
- Manage and communicate formally and informally through established channels with stakeholders at all levels, including EMB and help facilitate stronger working relationships between business partners from all divisions.
- Manage Program reporting and assist business partners in reporting to key stakeholders and consistently monitor and manage project status.
- Coordinate project closure to distil good practice and ensure lessons learned are logged.
Project education and best practice:
- Implement standardized and customized project management tools and techniques including delivery frameworks, templates and standards for Project and Change Management at Hachette Book Group
- Define and embed best-practice project control and governance
- Develop a basic understanding of organizational Project Management practices amongst all project stakeholders
- Establish project management practices as internal company standards
- Provide ongoing evaluation and assessment of project management proficiencies across the organization
- Develop awareness of project management value amongst all staff and a project sympathetic culture
- Coaching managers and supervisors to improve implementation communication.
Change Management
- Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
- Creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
- Drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees.
- Develop Change Management capabilities amongst the leadership of all project initiatives.
- Support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications.
- Maintain effective relationships with cross-functional business stakeholders.
- Creating communication and training plans to enable smooth implementation of the strategy.
- Identify and manage anticipated resistance.
- Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders.
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness, track, and report issues, define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
- Provide input and support the design and delivery of training programs.
Specific Role Skills and Knowledge
- At least 10 years of relevant project management and change management experience.
- PMP, or equivalently qualified in similar project management methodologies.
- Strong knowledge and experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
- Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
- A proven track record of driving complex projects with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Possess the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, pursue multiple threads at the same time, accurately reflect the current state and drive towards desired state.
- Strong ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with business partners.
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
- Knowledge of benefits and dependency mapping, risk management and resource planning
- Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
- Ability to competently mediate disagreements and negotiate agreeable resolutions
- Experience of Program and Project level financial management
- Experience of defining and delivering benefits realization for projects and program
- PMP Certification or similar Project Management certification and/or Change Management certification preferred
- Media industry experience preferred

The compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
